Thanks for pointing that out. Moore might offer the child abuse line to buy time for himself to get “help.” The Evangelicals see an opportunity to test their “biblical counseling” on a model subject. With his successful conversion, they might even get from him a valuable spokesman against same-sex behavior.
There is never an inducement to tell the truth, and there was no investigation of the truth. Even the mania to fire him is vintage homophobia, in being really driven by disgust over girl molestation and mistreatment of women, but they don’t want to deeply question that system.
It’s easier to satisfy the thirst for justice by going after the gay-ish black guy.
