Moore’s anti-gay rhetoric is so frequent and extreme, in all her books, that I have to wonder if she was allowed into her prominence by a leadership structure that saw her as a useful tool for this purpose.

If she changes her tune, then the deal is off. She’d have to compete, like Rob Bell, outside the “church” system. I don’t think she’s ready for that, or wants that. She’s the mother of the dysfunctional family. That’s the role she’s playing.
