Are you disputing Gordis? There is no possible accusation of “premarital sex” against men, in Jewish law, as a crime. Against women there is no necessary punishment, but a new husband can protest if his bride is not a virgin. (That is- if he was not told.) Note the administration of this law works unexpectedly to place all focus on the bride’s parents deciding if she is a member of the covenant community.
